1511 kW Xiaomi Electric Motor System, Features, Performance, and Launch Details

Along with these four electric motors, the Chinese manufacturer is also integrating a wide range of advanced technologies that we explain below.

The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has just presented a new next-generation propulsion system for future electric models, integrated as a demonstration into a SU7 test unit. This advanced system includes renewed steering, an electric motor for each wheel and an active suspension that promises to change the driving experience.

The new propulsion system is capable of delivering a chilling level of power, reaching 1,511 kWwhich as is easy to imagine will allow it to offer exceptionally high performance on the track.

Engine configuration includes two units Super Motor V8s, each of them capable of delivering up to 425 kW similar to those used in the SU7 Ultra model. The two front engines, however, are advanced developments, since none of those presented so far by the Chinese manufacturer would allow us to reach the 1,511 kW of joint power that we have mentioned before.

Don’t go, there’s still more

The ability to actively distribute engine torque between the outer and inner wheels during cornering, known as torque vectoring, is a feature already present on the SU7 Ultra equipped with three electric drives. Nevertheless, The addition of a fourth motor further improves this feature allowing the vehicle to even rotate on itself without moving from the spot, as we have already seen in other electric models such as the Mercedes-Benz G-Class electric or the Zeekr 001 FR.

Another element to highlight about this Xiaomi development is that the new chassis used uses seven suspension arms and active actuators, which not only improves control and comfort when driving on roads with many curves, but is even capable of performing visual displays. in which the vehicle “jumps”. This chassis, which incorporates Bosch components, offers a lifting force greater than 44 thousand newtons, thus being capable of lifting the weight of not one, but two conventional electric vehicles of about 2.2 tons, with a maximum lifting adjustment of 140 millimeters.

As explained by Xiaomi, the company intends to popularize this type of capabilities in its future high-performance electric models. Although it has not given more details about what could be the first electric model of the Chinese firm to integrate this new technology.
